Will studying a martial art make my child more aggressive?

Not usually. With improved self-confidence and continued positive adult influences children don’t feel as great a need to prove themselves.

Will I get hurt?

Probably not. In twenty years of teaching martial arts the worst injury has been a busted lip. We take every precaution to make sure that our students are safe. Mr. Ambrose is certified in CPR and First aid. He has also had a police back ground check within the last year.

How much does it cost?

Our present rate is $40 a month. $20 per additional student.

Are there any other costs beside tuition?

Yes. Uniform = $25.00, Testing = $10, Sparring Gear = $115 not needed until green belt, Tournaments & seminars = variable (Tournaments & seminars are not mandatory)

How many time can I come to class?

Children can attend class up to 2 times a week. If a class is missed, they can attend another class time.

How long does it take to achieve a black belt?

2 to 4 years. Length of time depends on the students desire to practice.

What is the order of belts?

The belt system can vary from system to system. Our system has 9 belts, white, yellow, orange, green, purple, blue, brown, red, red/black. There are 9 degrees of black belt. Any student under the age of fourteen will receive a white/black belt instead of a solid black belt. This identifies them as a junior black belt.

Will I have to meditate or perform any other eastern religious practice?

No. At the Kick Factory we do not practice, promote or teach eastern philosophy or religion. We are a Bible believing organization. Although we do accept the Bible as final authority over our lives, we believe that people have a right to choose what they believe.

I was a ________ belt in karate or taekwondo can I keep my belt rank?

We believe that if you earned your belt you should be able to keep your belt. We will ask you to demonstrate your skill and knowledge. If successfully completed we will let you keep your rank.

Can I wear my uniform from previous training?

Yes you may as long as it doesn't have labeling from other styles and it is in good clean condition.
