Studio Etiquette

Extreme polite manners, language and actions are always expected in the taekwondo studio.

Children should not leave the building without adult supervision.

No horseplay in the building. Proper conduct is expected of every student or family member while in the facilities. No running before class starts. Respect equipment.

Voices should be kept low during class times.

If you have any taekwondo problems, gripes or complaints please discuss them with Mr. Ambrose.

Students, parents and guests should not converse with any person involved in a class session without permission from the instructor.

During class students are expected to push themselves to do their personal best. However, the instructor should always be informed about pre-existing injuries or disabilities so that individual modifications can be made.

Please use the restroom before class begins.

Uniform Etiquette

Make sure your uniform looks clean and is pressed.

Make sure your belt hangs evenly, with stripes on the right.

Females must wear a t-shirt under their uniform top.

Males may wear a t-shirt under their uniform top.

Only approved shoes can be worn on the puzzle mats.

When making uniform adjustments please turn away from the coach and the flags.

Class Etiquette

Please try and be on time to class.

If late to class, please wait at the edge of the training area, raise your hand and wait for permission to enter the training area.

Please, no gum chewing.

A courtesy bow is expected before stepping on or off the training floor.

If you must leave early please tell the instructor before class starts.

To line up in class, facing forward, the highest ranked student stands to the right, next in rank stands to his left and so on. The second line begins the same way.

When breaking rank, please do not walk in front of students who hold a higher rank.

Instructors and black belts should be addressed as either Mr. or Mrs. or "Sir" or "Ma’am".

Students should make sure finger nails and toe nails are trimmed.

All jewelry should be removed before class. The exceptions are wedding bands and medical ID bracelets.

All students are expected to be courteous and understanding. Advanced students are expected to set a good example for new students and to assist such students when necessary.

It is the student’s responsibility to turn in any home training records.
